How long have you been a wedding photographer and how much experience do you have?
Around 4 years, I’m now in my 5th wedding season and have photographed 100’s of weddings. Before I became a wedding photographer I studied and worked as a graphic designer for a few years. When I started getting too busy to keep up my full time job I made the leap and went full time. I’ve always been a creative and using my camera.
Where are you based?
I live in Gippsland, but frequently travel throughout Gippsland and Melbourne, I am available for weddings throughout Australia and internationally.
What’s your personality or vibe at a wedding?
I’m pretty laid back to be honest, I prefer to direct rather than pose you awkwardly. My main goal is to fit in and be like one of your guests or a good friend hanging out with you for the day. I like to feel like your good friends on the day rather than just someone you hired to photograph your day.
Will you travel for our wedding?
Absolutely yes! I’ve been luck enough to already have photographed weddings interstate in Australia, editorials in New Zealand and I also booked a wedding in Italy next year. It’s not as expensive as you’d imagine, if you are planning a destination wedding I’d love to chat.
Do you work with videographers?
I absolutely recommend having video as it compliments your photographs so well. I just have my ones I prefer to work with as they match my style and don’t disrupt the flow of the day. I love the idea of having a film or video compliment your photos but picking one that suits the style of your photography is really important.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, public liability and all my gear is insured too.
How many photos we receive afterwards?
Every wedding is different, usually between 600 - 800, if theres loads of good candid moments and things to capture I’ve been known to supply 1000+ images so it really depends on your day. You’ll get these images edited in high-resolution via usb. I typically include all the good shots and take out any non-flattering or test shots. You’ll receive an online gallery and a usb via a parcel.
How long after the wedding will I receive my photos?
Usually 4 - 6 weeks after your wedding, sometimes 8 weeks if it’s around peak season times like March or November.
Have you shot at my venue before?
I actually get more creative when visiting new locations and venues. I love to travel and visit new places. However I’m happy to come view your venue prior or arrive earlier on the day to suss it out. I understand the why you might be nervous if I haven’t shot at your venue, but to be honest, it’s not a big deal as I’ll be doing my best to give you the best photos.
Do you shoot with a second shooter?
I don’t typically work with second shooters unless it’s requested by you, you have more than 150 guests attending or our time schedule is really tight. I might even decide to have one if I’m photographing 2 weddings over one weekend as sometimes I’ll need the extra help.
Can you make us an album?
What’s an ‘unplugged wedding’, and why should we have one?
This really just refers to the ceremony, not the rest of the day, and refers to a ceremony where the couple ask / tell their guests to put their phones, cameras and ipads away for the ceremony. I think you should have an unplugged ceremony. There are a few good reasons to do this, main reasons being:
So guests don’t get in my way, meaning that I won’t miss the really lovely photo opportunities that you’ve paid me to shoot, and
Your guests are present during the ceremony, listening, crying and being “with” you, rather than seeing them hidden behind devices.
Do you need us to provide a meal for you?
Yes please. I usually don’t mind where I’m seated but please consider seating me inside, out of the cold would be appreciated!
How do we book you?
Fill out my contact form here and I can check if I’m available for you and send you through my full price list. I usually take a 30% deposit which is non-refundable to keep me exclusive for your date.
